Moment of Realization At The Aero Theatre

I had a moment of realization at the Aero Theatre last night.  For years in college my  best friend, Lauren and I would spend our weekends roaming Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, window shopping, sipping coffee, getting dinner, and watching great old movies at the Aero.  As much fun as we had with each other, we’d talk about how nice it would be to have a boys to do the same activities with.

Don’t get me wrong, I dated some really nice guys in college and have a lot of great guy friends but none of them were the right fit.  I used to bitch to Lauren, “I just want a tall, thin guy with ‘Weezer’ glasses and dark hair that I can go to the Aero with, why is this so hard to find?”

So, sitting in the Aero last night with Mac about to watch the Maltese Falcon it hit me, years later I had gotten exactly what I asked for.  I was stunned, what people had been telling me for years was right, "stop looking and you’ll find it."  Sitting there in the dark last night I couldn’t believe how it all came about and how I could possibly be lucky enough to get exactly what I asked for.   Life’s little reminder to stop stressing, let things take their course, and you’ll end up exactly where you’re meant to be.

  1. I love this. I'm kind of a big fan of will power. You might have unknowingly willed Mac to come around just by speaking it out loud and thinking it. I know it's always worked for me.
