Flea Market Finds

I think someone must have been reading my blog post last week because I came across this mid century gold rimmed bar set at the Long Beach flea market on Sunday.  I am obsessed with the clean, simple stripes and the textured bases.  For $25, how can you go wrong?  I'll admit that I was not thrilled about getting up early on a Sunday morning to hit the flea market but a coffee the size of my face and finding this set completely changed my mood.  I think that slowly but surely my bar is coming together.

Collecting can be so rewarding but sometimes I have the hardest time waiting for the perfect find.  So I just had to reward my patience with with a batch of skinny mojitos! Has anyone else found a fun flea market find lately?

Gold Bar Accessories

As you know I've been working on creating a cozy home bar and I just love these gold accents!  I fell in love with this shaker last December and found it's still around if you hunt for it.  The ice bucket feels so Mid Century but is actually on sale at Home Depot of all places for less than $30.  And I just can't get over that bottle opener so simple and beautiful!  Do you have a theme for your bar?  Links to all these goodies are here, I can't wait to add some of these to my little bar.

Would You Have An At Home Bar?

I love the idea of an at home bar...Mac is totally against it, he thinks it makes a space look cluttered.  But after getting some fabulous decanters and looking at these pictures how can I resist?  Luckily for Mac we don't live together, because I'm already planning my bar. Here are some ideas that have been inspiring me...

My almost one bedroom apartment is so small I know I don't have room for a full bar cart, but I adore the idea of using a dresser top (especially since my living room has a dresser just like the one on the right).

I also love the look of these two more traditional carts, clean and simple with a lot of style.  Something about having a bar at home makes me feel like I'm in an old movie.  What do you think?  Would you have an at home bar or does it clutter the space?  Any suggestions?

More Bar Accessories

I decided that my mid century modern bar just wouldn't be complete without a bar trolley.  How great is this one? I feel like I should be having a martini with the Rat Pack.  A little out of our price range but great inspiration.

Mid Century Modern Bar Ideas

A couple weeks ago Mac found a super cool mid century modern bar caddy for me complete with a cocktail shaker, low-ball glasses and high-ball glasses. I’ve had so much fun playing bartender that it’s, of course, inspired me to look up even more mid century modern pieces to round out the bar. What do you think?

One Scotch, One Bourbon, One... Three Bottle Bar Set and Carry Stand
Bourbon, Scotch, and Rye, loving this set.

2 Vintage Roly Poly Cocktail Glasses, Silver Rim Old Fashioneds
Not only do these look great, but I'm sure the heavy glass feels so good.
