Brightening My Desk

Darlings, I don't know about you but every now and then my desk needs a little pick-me-up and these autumn touches hit the spot!  Trying to make space in my home office for all of the pictures and personal touches I had in my old office is difficult as my home office is also our guest room.  So adding these seasonal details and a reminder to enjoy everyday helps to make it feel like a cozy office space without taking up too much room.  How do you personalize your desk?

Tufted

Darlings my latest project craze is to work on a tufted chair or ottoman.  I fell in love with the chair from my last post and have decided I need something tufted in my new book nook.  Mac actually brought home a great mid-century chair yesterday that would be perfect to reupholster and tuft but I have the feeling he's not going to sacrifice it. Anyone ever done any DIY tufting?  I found these little tips from Little Green Notebook as a starter.  

Back To School!

Look at all these vintage back to school goodies I found!  I can't help but get excited this time of year and think of bouquets of newly sharpened pencils.  Wouldn't some of these brighten up your office while bring back a sense of nostalgia, or look so cute in a kids room?  Mac has that pencil holder and it adds so much character to his desk, happy shopping!

Mid Century Modern Office

At happy hour last week my friend Jessica and I were already lamenting the lack of Mad Men this coming summer, no sexual tension in the gorgeous mid century modern office … whatever will we do?! Coincidentally, I had an email from Crest waiting for me in my inbox that day. I don’t know about you but I’d be much more excited about today’s conference if the room looked like this. Can’t beat the clean lines and beautiful wood grain, instantly relaxing.
