Weekend Cocktail: Rhubarb Mimosas

Darlings, I just can't resist sharing these rhubarb mimosas.  I've been looking for inspiration for a friend's bridal shower and I'm thinking these are a must!  Pretty, pink, and the tang of rhubarb...party time.  I've been in love with rhubarb since I lived in London years ago and I always get excited to see it popping up here in the spring and summer.  So combining it with champagne for this cocktail sounds like perfection.  View the recipe for these simple four ingredient sparklers here!

Food Porn Friday

This raspberry cake from Sugar and Cloth looks perfect for the end of a long week!  (And how cute is that plate?)  And this week has been long. Darlings, last week I threw my back out...apparently I'm 60. I had no idea how much it stops you in your tracks. This week I have been able to go back on my feet but I still can't lift things, bake, or even walk fast. Who knew you could miss doing laundry?

How have your weeks been?  When was the last time you were laid up with an injury?

Raspberry Pink Champagne French Macarons

What do I love? Champagne, macarons, and Mac.  So what could be more perfect for Valentine's than heart shaped raspberry pink champagne french macarons?

When I was trying my hand at the champagne macarons a couple weeks ago I realized the only thing that could make them better would be adding raspberry, and when you're making them pink you might as well use pink champagne right?  So I started experimenting and the result was heavenly! I had so much fun shopping for pink champagne, baking these little treats, taking pictures, and of course eating them for breakfast this morning.

If you're feeling a little adventurous give them a try as a special treat for you Valentine or share them with friends you love! Recipe and more photos after the jump!

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Food Porn Friday: Happy Birthday Mom!

I saw this cake and immediately thought of my mom. Happy birthday Mom! I hope today is full of champagne, warm words, and lots of love!  Here's a list of some of the things my mom has taught me over the years:

  • Always be yourself
  • Be over dressed rather than under
  • Never lose your childlike innocence
  • Pearls and diamonds go with everything
  • Learn about yourself before you share yourself with someone else
  • Champagne is for special occasions
  • Everyday is a special occasion
  • Being a lady is in how you act
  • Sometimes you just need a cheeseburger
  • One piece bathing suits really are more flattering
  • Being a woman doesn't mean that you can't be strong and independent
  • Travel, travel, travel
Thank you Mom for everything you've taught me and for being one of my best friends!

Room Full Of Roses

Have you ever woken up and though "Ugh! There are roses on my desk, yuck!"  Me neither.  I absolutely love having fresh flowers in my apartment and this look fits my place perfectly.  Bright white walls, wood accents, and stacks of old books.  All I need is some twine and burlap and this look is done...maybe I'm not that rustic.  But darlings let's dedicate this day to pampering ourselves with fresh lowers even if it's one simple rose from the flower shop in your neighborhood.  After all, don't you deserve it?

Adorable Art Prints

Every time I seem to make up my mind about the artwork I want in my place I find more adorable prints like these!  I just stumbled upon Amanda Catherine Designs on Etsy and I love all of her sweet prints.  I think at least one of these will be added to my walls, not only are they adorable but they're affordable to.  Check out all her other designs and color options.  What do you think, would you want one for your place? Here are a few more of my favorites.
