And Now A Quick Word About Bacon
Mac and I are going to Portland in a few months and the first thing I thought of was Voodoo. Mac, like most men I know, loves bacon and I could think of no better way to share a favorite food in a favorite city than Voodoo’s Maple Bacon Bar! Yep, you heard right. Maple doughnut with strips of crispy, happy bacon! Which of course inspired Lisa & Helios’ maple bacon ice cream. I believe it was Mike who decided to roll the bacon in brown sugar before adding it to the ice cream, great idea. If you love bacon or have someone if your life who does, I highly recommend you try one of these ideas at home. Oh, and about the last picture … I’m sure you can figure it out.

For Easter Brunch i had a DIY Ice Cream Sundae Bar. The hit was vanilla ice cream with melted peanut butter with brown sugar bacon crumble on it. It was almost equally good with hot fudge.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds amazing, so much better than mass ;)
ReplyDeleteVOODOO! Excitement ensues. And I must correct you here... The bacon ice cream was ALL Indy's idea initially! He'd been dreaming about it for longer than anyone should freely admit (Mike wasn't even there that first time we made it). We just happened to use Lisa's ice cream maker, haha.
ReplyDeleteOh, bacon, Portland and YOU TWO! Hurry June.
Haha, that's right. He was crazy about the physics of the bacon ice cream, love that guy!
ReplyDeleteAlmost time!!!!!
how about this, how about this... a deep-fried, chocolate banana... wrapped in bacon. methinks yes. (blake)
